Happy December, folks! I had planned to bring you my favorite sugar cookie recipe this week but honestly, I’m kinda bored of sharing recipes. (I promise I will share those cookies in my next Good Thing post.)
This week I would like to show you the Goodbye/Hello journal. It came recommended by Emma Gannon who writes, The Hyphen. She wraps up every year with one.
I completed the years of 2009-2011 with a similar book called, Your Best Year Yet! and I always enjoyed it and really did get a lot out of the questions. Then I moved to Los Angeles and sort of forgot about the ritual. Towards the end of every year though, I always get the urge to reflect and usually journal my thoughts about the past and my dreams for the future. But I always get a bit lost and I have a habit of journaling what “sounds good” instead of what’s actually true.
When I read Emma’s post that mentioned the Goodbye/Hello journal, I was instantly excited by the idea of some guided reflection. I received mine yesterday and gave it a flip through. I’m very excited to sit down and fill it out. While it hinges on cheesy, it offers a ton of insightful questions that even my inner cynic can’t poo poo.
If I were good at keeping a journal and a little less lazy, I’d look up prompts online and provide for myself what this little book does. Anyway, as I know a lot of you who read my posts are writers and reflectors yourselves, I thought you might like this little good thing.
Have a dreamy weekend. I’ll see you Monday!
